2010 Relay For Life - Keystone Heights, FL
This year Faith Presbyterian Church participated in the Relay For Life event in Keystone Heights, FL. This is an awesome American Cancer Society event. Relays are held in communities worldwide. It is a great way to celebrate those who have battled cancer and won, remember those who lost their battle with cancer, and raise awareness and funds to support the work of the American Cancer Society.
If you have never participated in a Relay For Life event, you should. It has moments that are very moving such as the survivor lap where cancer survivors take a lap around the track and the luminaria ceremony where luminaries are lit as a memorial to our loved ones. It also has a lot of fun games and activities. Teams from around our community come together for an all night event.
In 2010 our team raised $1,582 and our event in Keystone Heights raised $37,500. This is awesome. We have already registered a team for the 2011 event. The local RFL committee has begun meetings so you can watch for more information about this in the next few months.
